Almost 100 years of history!

  • 1930 - 1945

    The Beginning

In 1930, the entrepreneurial Oostvogels Senior, at the age of 18, started his own business in Achtmaal, Brabant. Initially transporting soil to the local marsh with a horse and cart, the company soon expanded, and a real truck was acquired for the transportation of livestock and agricultural products.

  • 1945 - 1968

    Military Truck

After World War II, the business resumed activities with a GMC CCKW, an American military truck from the Second World War. Shortly after, in 1960, the first new trucks were purchased.

  • 1968

    The Handover & Warehousing

In 1968, Senior officially handed over the business to two of his sons. They energetically continued the operations with four new trucks and constructed a warehouse of 1000 square meters.

  • 1989

    Hazeldonk-Meer

When his brother had to step down due to health issues in 1989, Johan Oostvogels continued the business alone. With the company’s growth, Oostvogels Group BV later moved to the strategically located industrial estate Logistic Centre Hazeldonk-Meer.

  • 2006

    The third generation

The company continued to grow steadily and in 2006, Claudia and Edwin officially took over the business from their father Johan Oostvogels, marking the third generation of family management. The company operates 90 tractor units and has over 70,000 square meters of storage space available in both Belgium and the Netherlands.

  • 2018

    Acquisition by Neele-Vat

On January 1, 2018, Oostvogels Group BV was acquired by Neele-Vat. Oostvogels continues to operate under its own name but is now part of Neele-Vat. Together with Neele-Vat, Oostvogels can better support its customers’ growth and anticipate innovations in areas such as digitalization and sustainability. In turn, Neele-Vat benefits from the strategic location, packaging capabilities, and the strong foundation in the feed, food, and chemicals industries of Oostvogels.

The history of Oostvogels Groep BV spans nearly a century. In 1930, the entrepreneurial Oostvogels Senior, at the age of 18, started his own business in Achtmaal, Brabant. Initially focused on transporting soil to the local marsh, the company quickly expanded, replacing horse and cart with a real truck. This marked the beginning of transporting livestock and agricultural products. After the war, operations resumed with a former army GMC. Shortly thereafter, in 1960, the first new vehicles were purchased.

The Handover

In 1968, Senior officially passed on his business to two of his sons. They took an aggressive approach, acquiring four new trucks and constructing a 1000 square meter warehouse. When his brother had to step down due to health issues in 1989, Johan Oostvogels continued the business on his own. As the company grew, Oostvogels Groep BV later moved to the strategically located Logistic Centre Hazeldonk-Meer industrial estate.

The Third Generation

In the following years, the company continued to grow steadily, and in 2006, Claudia and Edwin officially took over the business from their father, Johan Oostvogels, becoming the third generation to run the company. Currently, the company operates 50 trucks and has over 120,000 square meters of storage space available in both Belgium and the Netherlands.
